1990 Nissan Pickup keeps burning up fuel pumps

Are you using oem pump? Use a gage and check fuel pressure. Check fuel pump amp draw. Check voltage and ground for the pump. When is the last time the fuel filter was changed? As far as the filter, don't take any lines loose unless your sure there is no pressure on the system.
