BECKER RADIO CODE KEY ALL MODELS

With Service Information MBNA 82/42 of March 1990, you were advised that an electronic code key was being made available to every MB dealer.

At that time, a zone representative (FSM) assigned a specific code key serial number to each dealer and upon presentation, obtained the signature of the authorized dealer (service) manager on the Becker Code Key Receipt Voucher. That signature also indicated an agreement to honor the MBNA policy statement concerning the Becker Code, which requires that the recipient is responsible for proper storage and use.

We find it necessary to reemphasize this point since some dealers have "misplaced" their code key. Although the code key can be considered a special tool, it simply cannot be replaced like any other tool! Please consider for a moment the consequences if your code key ends up in the hands of "unauthorized" personnel!

It is the Service Manager's responsibility to keep the code key locked up securely at all times. The release of that key for decoding, and its subsequent prompt return to the Service Manager, must be recorded and monitored.

Please ensure that the usage and safe keeping of the Becker Code Key is supervised in your shop!
