1990 Lexus LS 400 over heating

Lexus LS400 new problem. How do I check the relay for the front fans? Do I need to change the coolant sensor as well? Car still over heating we flushed the radiator checked the water pump and still no change. Please help

One fan with the white/red stripe and blue wires should always be on with key on. Other runs when commanded. The first one stated runs off fan relay 3 in relay pack under left headlight. It gets power from a fusible link from battery. Fusible link is a smaller gauge wire spliced to a larger gauge wire usually coming out of the main fuse panel. If you have a test light, pull fan relay 3 and two terminals should have power. Also check Ign fuse in fuse panel left of steering wheel. Will be 7.5 amp fuse.

We pulled the 3 relay and fans did not go on but then we wiggled the 3relay and only one fan goes on the fan on the right side. Please help

That's a great start. Try swapping that relay with another one like it. If fan comes on and stays on with key on, replace relay.
