My car will start and run for a hour or two then it will lose all power, what could that be?

I back into a car and it acted like it need a new fuel filter so we changed that and check the fuel relay swicth to see if it need to be turn back on that wasn't it and the fuel pump is still running strong. When it dies it like everything is turned off.

When it dies, have you checked for spark and fuel to the engine?
