Need help on identifiying a shifting issue

I have a 1990 ford mustang lx 4 cylinder automatic, when at stop it doesn't go into grear, engine just revs. Is it a switch or a major tranny problem?

It could be a few things. Start by checking trans fluid pressure.

Sounds like no matter what its going to cost you a transmission. It would be in the vauve body and buy time you replace that you might as well get new disk put in. Noting worst then fixing one part just to do it again in a few weeks.
