I put a fuel pump a while back before this it ran fine just needed a fuel pump. But when I dropped the tank, and put another pump in it wasn't a new pump, but I have checked the pressure and it is where it is suppose to be.But now the truck will idle fine but you give it gas and it backfires through the exhaust pipe,I am not sure what happened but after I installed the fuel pump this started happening.Does anyone have a theory on this subject I would appreciate it

if it backfires check to see ifyour compression is ok and if valves are working ok may be a bent pushrod or broken follower/spring.
