i have a 1990 econoline van with a 5.8 it wont idle til it warms up. it seems like the fuel is burning to rich. need help

You may have a few possibilities.
A bad oxyen sensor
A bad Idle Air Control valve
a bad fuel pressure regulator
Have the fuel pressure checked.
