i have a dodge w-250 how would i go about checking if my egr valve is causing my intermitten throttle hesitation?

Apply vacuum to the EGR and check if it sticking
start engine and idle slowly apply vacuum to EGR and notice RPM when it start to run rough release the vacuum allowing the EGR to close and it should very quick if not remove and replace
