1990 Dodge Dynasty Trunk lid motor or switch

The trunk lid does not lock into place as it previously did. I used to hear an electric switch or lock when i wpul close the lid of the trunk. I replaced several fuses but this had no effect. please give me any advice.

Does the lid lock into place or remain open?

The trunk lid is flat flush like it used to be but there is a light on the dashboard for the 4 doors trunk lid and hood. The light for the trunk stays on constantly. Also when you hit a speed hump or pot hole the trunk will open. I cannot lock the trunk. I tightened the mounting screws. Also the electric trunk release button also works. there appears to be no problems with the key as it still turn the lock tumblers.
