1990 Chevrolet Silverado 5 Speed Manual Transmission Just Replaced Shaft

I have a 1990 5 speed manual transmission and i have just replaced the shaft berring. I have put it ll back together and when I put it in neutral it is stuck in another gear. I have tried many times to resolve this problem. I can shift through all the gear but 4th is harder than the others. What is wrong?

re check the shifter placement. it may not be sitting right in the shift rail.
