I have a 1990 chevy lumina car accelerates and runs well but when I slow down to stop, engine flutters and tries to stall. It hesitates when I accelerate to pull out again then runs fine. I changed the idle air control valve and fuel filter and checked for vacuum leaks. What else should I check? Wayne

I would say a vacuum leak. Did you check the intake manifold for leaks? What you described sounds just like a vacuum leak. You may want to check vacuum using a vacuum gauge. You should have around 15lbs of vacuum
