Speedometer for 1990 Corsica LTZ

The Speedometer is out on my car. It, and the tachometer both spike as soon as the car goes into gear. Can you give advice on how to replace.

Check and test the vehicle speed sensor.

How do I do that? Is the sensor on this model near the tire, or in the dash?
