1990 Cadillac Deville Replaced Alternator Battery Had Checked Out By Mechanic

Replaced the alternator ,then replaced the battery. Had it checked out by a mechanic , he said everything was ok, but the battery light still comes on and draining the battery. What could be doing this. It holds a charge for awhile then it dies.

sounds like the alternator has failed.

new or used part>>> what is the voltage at the battery??
