1990 Buick Other Rear Compt Ajar light

This light does not go off when the tailgate is closed securely. Any idea how I can fix it.

See if your tailgate lock switch is working it may not be. Aslo check for broken wires and check lock an dunlock relay. It s' under how to repair electrical relay
