I have removed fuel lines (3) and the 2 bolts holding existing fuel pump to cylinder head and removed the old pump however I cannot get the new pump to mount flush. I am using required gaskets and spacer as supplied and have checked the replacement part is identical to the old pump. Any ideas or comments would be appreciated

MAYBE TURN THE CRANK (LITTLE BY LITTLE) BY HAND SO THAT THE CAM LOBE MOVES OPPOSITE OF THE PUMP?
