1989 Suzuki Sidekick Trying Replace Freeze Plug On Sidekick Wanting Leave Motor

I am trying to replace the freeze plug on my 1989 Suzuki Sidekick. I am wanting to leave the motor in. I have tried hitting it and i was able to bust a small hole in it. What is the best way?

Punch near the side of the plug to dislodge it and use a screw driver to pry it out.
