1989 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Told That Pass Side Door Lock Pin Inside Panel Must

i was told that my pass side door lock pin inside the door panel must have fallen off and i cant open that door at all....any suggestions?

never heard of a pin, a rod, possibly but the door panel has to be removed to inspect for the failure.
