hard to get it to go into and stay in gear?

It is very hard to get it to go into and stay in gear. It shifts fine but will not engage. It also jumps out of gear when having to stop for lights/stop signs. Shift linkage seems to work OK. Engine is excellent, it does not even use oil yet. Trans fluid/ filter were changed at about 50K.

check gearshift t for proper adjust ment it linkage see pic if front wheel drive it is a different system.

I have seen the transmission filter seal go bad or the filter just fall out of the front pump which has done in the service, I would remove the pan to recheck the filter position. Here is how to do the job correctly. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
