Recent replacement of water pump. Gear on cam belt was found to be back to front from cam and balance belt replacement last year and was put on correctly and pulley adjusted accordingly.

Loss of power but compressions are normal for number of Kms. "Clacking" sound follows the revs of the engine and is in the engine. No excess smoke as you would expect with piston gone.
