1989 Mercury Topaz Car Dies

While driving the car, it just dies. I can restart it immediately. This happened once a couple of weeks ago, but it died more than five times today. Just this week I had the starter, battery, battery cables changed. Would that have anything to do with it. What could be causing this?

This can be a very difficult problem to diagnose as there is no time for testing. The only way to diagnose this is that you have to determine which function dropped out first at the moment it stalled...ie: spark, fuel pressure or injector pulse. Until that can be determined, you can throw parts at it endlessly.
