how do u replace a distributor in a 1989 mercury grand marquis

I need information on the best way to do this.

if the distributor is still in it take teh cap off and mark with apiece of chalk on teh manifold where the rotor is pointing. undo the bolt that holds the clamp in place. take out old dist. install new one with rotor pointing to where you marked it. clamp it down install cap and start the car. Otherwise you'll have to put the car at TDC and point rotor to #1 on cap to start the car.
