Transmission trouble

II have an 89 cougar ls and the transmission wants to always go forward even in park, reverse, ask a few ppl one said vacuum hoses, other said neutral safety switch, I think new transmission?

Neither is going to cause the vehicle to go forward in all gears. If you mean that the car is always in drive regardless of what gear you place it in, check the linkage to make sure it is attached. If when you place it in park if the engine is still loaded down and trying to go forward (as you mentioned in any gear), it sounds like the the front clutch pack has come apart and is stuck in drive.
