1989 Mercedes Benz 420sel Transmission rebuild

I bought a transmission kit and had a friend of mine who said he could rebuild the transmission do the job. Now he cannot figure out where some of the washers (or something that looks like washers) go back inside the transmission. Is there anyway I can go to find a diagram or schematic of some sort he could follow?

Those sound like thrust washers you are referring to. I looked on our online manual and there was nothing there for this vehicle. However, the rebuild kit should have a blown-up picture of the transmission. If there isn't one, is there any literature with the kit?
