Has been gassed up and looked at by mechanics BUT I saw written somewhere a simple cause could be a blocked inlet pipe, maybe rubber (?) is perished OR blocked with grease. Is this a common cause as I was told by someone a few years back. My A/C is not working and I have lost the guy's phone number. Really hot in Sydney with temperatures in high 90's driving without A/C. Please help !?

The mechanic should hook the system up to a pressure manifold gauge, this will give both the high and low side pressure readings, with this he can do the diagnostics depending on what readings he gets, has this been done.
