I need to change the headlight switch in my 1989 Town Car. Can I use a universal headlight switch? I was told I had to special order one that was $300 but I want to know if I can put in a universal one instead.

Head lights flicker on and off and eventually stay off. Mechanic said the wiring is fine but its a bad switch. I want to buy a universal switch but I was told it had to be a special switch?

it has to bethe onefor the car because of hte automatic feature on it. the universal switch is not for cars like yours. Your headlight switch should be available at an auto parts store
