Sounds like an ignition switch problem if you have to do that-check ignition primary wire from switch to coil

Thanks. The truck cut off in the middle of the road last week. We thought it might be low on gas. We added gas. It cranks. But as soon as you let off the key, it cuts off.

Get a jumper wire hook it up to the battery positive and other end to the coil positive this will bypass the Ig Sw-let me know

Ignition resistor is open. It is bypassed during cranking.
