Heater problems

are both hoses at core hot when engine is to op temp?

Top hose is hotter than the lower by touch I did not check with thermometer

i should add check with the blower fan turned off. if i side is noticeably cooler your core's not flowing enough. and maybe you have a blend door issue? how cold is it where you are? 180 water temp and 0 weather wont make a heater hot. does that motor have a coolant bleeder? air in the lines would cause poor flow. i also heard mazda uses a '2 stage' thermostat`in that motor.

It averages -10 to 40 degrees in the winter. I put a two stage therostat in. the only bleeder thing on the car is on the radiator. I tried to take the plug out but it just spun, it didn't seem to help so I left it alone. I will check the heater hose tomarrow. What temp should the cars thermostat be for temp.

195 is the temp i am used to but 180 is capable of heating if everything else is good. i think 195 was originally instituted to meet emissions. i see on net others have your same problem.

I checked the heater hoses with heater fan off at running temp. Both hoses where hot bottom hose a little cooler. When I opened the hood I noticed that the top of the radiator was wet. Looks like its seeping out where the tank is clamped to core. Could my heat problem be a bad radiator?

if antifreeze is leaking out then it's likely air is getting in which could likely effect flow and heater performance.
