I have a 1989 ford f250 that wont start and I think it is a fuel related problem. The truck will start and run for a second if I shoot it with starting fluid then will die. I think it is a fuel problem but dont know what it could be.

Have someone turn the key from off to on while you listen at the gas tank, can you hear the pump run for 2-3 seconds? Also to help further, I need to know if the truck is a single or dual tank system.
