f250 transmission problem?

f250 transmission problem= the car will go in reverse, and it will go forward, but it will not switch out of first gear. the transmission is automatic. was it installed incorrectly or is the transmission bad. got it from a junkyard, they claim it was good. came out of a truck whose motor blew.

Need to do pressure testing see if boneyard trans is good. Get warranty on trans? Same yr as old trans? same model?

Check kickdown cable adjustment at throttle body, loose or binding cable will cause a no shift condition.
