Idles high and low, engine wants do die when u step on the gas pedal, engine is burning rich, spark plugs are black

Change the plugs and wires. I would probably also change the oil. Make sure you properly gap the spark plugs before installing them. Spray carb/intake cleaner around the throttle body, where the intake meets the head, and any vacuum lines and ports you can see while the engine is running. Listen for the engine speed to change radically and returning. This tests for vacuum leaks. Check the fuel pressure and change the fuel and air filters.
