The speedometer stopped working but all my other gauges work

I have a 89 silverado 4wd manual. I was wondering what caused this? I know it could be a lose connection I was just wondering if it could be the speed sensor that connects to my transmission.

Either the speed senson if electronic, or the gear at the end of the cable, if its analog. Could also be the instrument cluster. Have it scanned for p, b, and u codes.
