1989 Chevrolet Celebrity steering

Try to remove the rack and pinion but bolt on pasenger side is to long keeps hiting floor board of the car it needs to come out at least another inch or so is that a normal how can I remove it does the motor and transmission need to be removed to drop tle lower frame just for one bolt?

The last one of these I did, was an 88 celeb 2.8L engine. I used a floor jack and lowered the rear of the cradle about 3 or 4 inches, I wouldn't lower it any further than that. My info shows two bolts holding rear of cradle.

If you see a better way, go for it. Good luck.
