I have a SBC 350 rebuilt bored.060 over with an eagle crank and edelbrock performer cam. I cant keep it cool runs to 250 degrees and boils over into the reservoir. Brand new 3 core radiator, new water pump, 180 degree t-stat and new heater core. I have a factory clutch fan and it still runs hot with the fan shroud. What can cause the over heating?

Do a chemical and pressure test on it-might tell you something-

Some blocks bored.60 over don’t work out and are too thin walled and will run to hot. A good machine shop should let you know when doing the work if the block should be bored that much.

If that’s not the issue first thing I’d do is take out the thermostat and don’t run one at all. Also running a 50/50 mix water antifreeze will cool better then all antifreeze. Also electrical fans that are on before it gets hot or all the time would help or a non clutch standard fan. It’s better to keep it cool instead of letting it get warm then trying to cool it down. Also a lean running engine may make little more power but it will run hotter. So possible carb adjustment air fuel may help a little.
