If somebody is talking to you, stay on the original post and they will know your asking another question.

If you make a new post, they won't know except by accident.

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove three fasteners from left side insulator panel.
Slide the steering shaft protective cover toward the cowl.
Remove the vacuum hose at the cruise control cut off switch, if so equipped.
Remove the stoplamp switch-to-steering column bracket retaining pin.
Unplug the electrical connector.
Push the switch arm to the left and towards the cowl to disconnect switch-to-pedal arm. Release the snap clip and remove the switch.

If you get a new switch, the instructions may come with switch, plus picture/s.

Yeah, I thought the database info was vague as well. I've looked several places for a decent picture of the assembly, I just haven't found it? It's hard for me to help w/o being able to look at it.

The white wire from the stop lamp switch should not be hot unless you step on the brake. If it is hot w/o stepping on the brake, you need to adjust the brake pedal or the brake switch, itself. Make sure the connector for the switch isn't shorted somehow.

All good info. If you would see this switch ( same from 88-92 ) its a big plastic piece with No way to adjust ! Someone said it could be the cruise control, thats tagged in ! Looked for a fuse for it but found none ! My next stop if you are out of ideas is go to a wiring specalist ! I put enough time & money in anyone want a clean with all options no rust car? Thanks

OK, if you lift up on the brake pedal, does the brake lite go out? Did you check for voltage on the white wire? Our info shows high-mount brake lamp as well as lower brake lites, do they both come on? They are usually wired a little different. The lower brake lites are wired through the turn switch and the high-mount isn't.

I don't know what else to tell you?

Ok will try the lifting up on pedal will have to disconnect the 4 wire plug ( very hard to get to ) & check out white wire theres also a singal wire above the 4 wire plug now to answer both upper & lower brake lites are on ! Also spoke to my mechanic that I get my cars inspected ( NY has both safety & emission ) he thinks there is a separate brake switch ! The switch I changed is sota a big pie shape that has a horseshoe mounting clip all part of the plastic body so is there another switch?

Not according to our wiring diagram. Two white wires off that brake switch. One goes to the high-mount brake lamp and the other goes to turn switch, the lower brake lamps are wired through the multifunction switch/turn switch.

All I can do is go by our wiring diagrams.

I found some info for brake switch adjustment.
Remove left sound insulator panel. Depress brake pedal. Using a stiff wire with a hooked end, gently pull switch set lever forward toward front of vehicle and listen for audible click. Click indicates release of automatic adjuster. If no click is heard, release the brake pedal and repeat step procedure.

After automatic adjuster has been released, pull brake pedal rearward. Listen for switch to ratchet into set position. A minimum of three clicks of the rachet should be heard.

I don't know if you tried that procedure? That info should have come with your instructions with new switch.

If ABS check for abs codes. There are codes related to brake switch staying on or off. You may need an abs code reader for that?
