I have 1989 Buick lesabre, i changed the radiator and after adding coolant and bleeding it my temp gauge needle only stays at the first line, just below normal.

The only time my temperature gauge needle stayed at the middle line or at normal operation was when i was bleeding my radiator with cap off.

Check the thermostat, it could be stuck open.
