My buick will not crank

The lights on the dash boarded will come on but the car will not crank forward, any idea on what it can be?

Make sure the battery has enough of a charge in it and the battery terminals are clean and tight. If it is, have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check for power to the smaller wire on the starter. There should be 12v in the start position. If there is power, the starter is bad. If there is no power, check the starter relay for power.
