My friend has a 88 VW Jetta, 4cyl, 5spd. Recently it's been running fine, except for it's constant idling up & down on it own. But on this past Sunday, he shut the car off for just 3minutes. and went to restart it when it would not start. My friend Mike has been living in his car for about 4yrs. I kindv just joined him in Jan 2012. But @ the beginning of this month, we've been sleeping out @ the dunes in Las Vegas, Nv. 10miles past Nellis Airforce Base and the Las Vegas Speedway. Granted he has bottomed out by hitting rocks and holes. Plus we jus has a recent flash flood of about 30minutes straight of pouring rain. He has also had to drive slowly through 2-3inches of puddles of water.
