1988 Toyota Pickup Had Kick Down Cable Put Fine Couple Days Now Acts Gas

I had a kick down cable put in and it was fine for a couple of days,but now it acts like the gas is running out and if i push the pedel to the floor it kicks in and we go for a ride,and it stops at the light also but i think thats from almost running out of fuel ,the light caught me.Thanx Ken

it sounds like the motor is the issue here, not the trans. have someone drive it that can tell if it is the motor or trans and get back to us
