I have a 1988 toyota corolla fx. The front driver wheel wobbles in and out, side to side, and up and down. I looked under it and took it all apart looks like there is a piece that is missing from it according to looking at the passenger side it has a plate or something before the cv axle goes into the hub assembly what is it?

I cant for some reason my phone will not let me log in on this site and I can not upload a picture at work. Any ideas on why it could be so loose? I took the wheel off and when I did its like the hub an all is not all the way in place it wiggles in an out towards me and the car. Then it will wiggle from front of car to back of the car and also from fender towards the ground. I will try and upload some pictures tomorrow. Thank you for your help so far.

It may not be missing anything it might just be my eyes fooling me I am not use to working on cars. I have only fooled with trucks. I guess to me it just seems as it is missing something to make it wobble like it does.

There is no adjustment with these bearings, if there is any movement with the bearing moving the wheel top to bottom with the wheel off the ground the bearing will be faulty, you can also check the tie rod end wheel on the ground and rock the steering and check for movement in the tie rod end, also check ball joint for movement as well.
