My 88 samurai heater fan controll will not turn fan on. How do I know if its the switch or the fan

Power the blower motor from the battery if it works-check the blower motor resistor and blower switch

Will the blower motor slide out of housing after removing the cover plate or do I need to disasemble the entire blower box for access
