1988 Saab 9000 Break Lights Simply Stopped Working Other Work Turn Signals

The break lights simply stopped working. All other lights work, turn signals front and back. Fuse replaced all is good there. I just don't know about that switch under the brake pedal, what its called or how it is suppose to be.??? One of the fog lights was damaged and looked pretty bad so we removed it. I don't even run those. I love my falling apart little saabi...Please help

check to see if the brake light switch on the top of the brake pedal is getting power, attached properly... Also, make sure fuses are good.
