Where is the Oil filter located on a 1988 Pontiac Grand AM?

Depends on the engine. If you have a giant drain plug about 3" in diameter, remove that, take a bath in about a quart of oil, then use a pliers to pull the filter out by the tab in the center, then take a big bath in the rest of the oil. On some engines the filter is to the left of the right strut and almost impossible to reach. You'll want to remove the wheel and tire. It's much easier to reach if you remove the strut for replacement at the same time. Either way, the engineers weren't too bright.
