Where is the fuel filter?

Is it possilbe for the fuel pump to be moved to a different spot on a car? It looks as if where its suppose to be the two lines are connected to together where there is suppose to be a fuel filter in the middle.

The fuel pump is in the tank. You should find the fuel filter by tracing from top of engine back toward tank and will be inline. Likely back near the tank area. Make sure you use line wrenches to break loose the lines and to retighten.
