i have a 1988 oldsmobile toronado trofeo and the brake reaction rod broke where it connects to the frame. it looks like it has a fixed pin or rivet in it. can this part be bought separately and if so how do i go about replacing the rivet. or am i just better off replacing the entire assembly.

if you are talking about what is called the tension strut on the front end, yo may need to replace th whole lower control arm. it connectsto the frame with alarge nut, unless the rivets holding the plate in have broken which you could bolt that back in bu tonly with grade 8 bolts and nuts.
