idling?

when i start it the truck idles rough, i go look at the gauge and it cant stop moving it will will bounce from 1000 up to 3000 and never stops and just idles normal??? any tips and ideas

The engine is surging and it could be anything from a leaking vacuum hose to a fault with theidle control system.

Check the AACV and throttle body. Try cleaning them and readjusting the idle to see if it helps.
