I have a 1988 Mazda rx7 non turbo . When I start my car on cold engine the idle goes between 3k and 4k rpm and when it's already warned up it stays up there and never goes back down.

Check for vacuum leakages, stuck tyhrottle plate and foreign materials lodged in throttle body.
