my car is overheating. i changed the thermostat. i also changed the radiator cap because it was broken and water was coming out from it.and the car still overheats. i removed the thermostat thinking that was still the problem and i drove my car without it for 30 minutes and the temperature needle was on cold eventually it started to rise to hot and the dash told me it needed coolant. what could be the problem

If you are loosing coolant, there is a leak somewhere depletng it or it could be a bad head gasket or blown engine. Check the engine oil for presence of coolant. Ensure cooling fans are working. When a fault occurs, taking off the thermostat is not going to work, it might delay the time to overheat but it will still overheat eventually.
