I have a 1988 T-bird turbo coupe. It has new brakes all the way around but now the abs light comes on every now and then. When the light comes on it cuts the power and the car dies. Any ideas?

Cuts what power? Engine power or electrical power? If it's electrical, check the charging system to see if it's quitting. Anti-lock brake systems need a lot of current and will shut down when system voltage is low because the computer knows it can't run the solenoids properly. The yellow warning light is indicating the system is turned off.
