1988 Ford Tempo Ennine Will Turn Over Starter Completely Dead Battery Plenty

Ennine will not turn over. Starter is completely dead. Battery has plenty of life in it. Suspect a short within the starter. Can you give me some troubleshooting ideas?

You may have to get a new solenoid or a new starter.
If you have an oil leak near the starter you might also spray it out with electronics cleaner or brake clenaer to see if that helps. More than likleky the starter is bad.
You can take it and the solenoid to any Advance Auto ro Auto Zone and they will test it for free.
