1988 eldorado trans issues

i just bought a 1988 eldorado it shifts in to gear just fine but when in drive it wont shift into 2nd or 3rd not even if u manually and reverse works just fine

have a trans guy look at it, it can be a governor or a valve body problem or speed sensor

i have a guy helping me with the car but the data link connector isnt working do u have any ideas on that

check fuses and then use a paer clip and cross A&B on the aldl watch light blink on dash with key on it will go in series of three 1 then 2 equalscode 12
